Polaris access with mixed cabin

I realize Polaris lounges are closed for the time being. I am considering booking Switzerland to Toronto in summer using Aeroplan points. Best option on my date seems to be United Polaris business to EWR then Air Canada economy to YYZ same day with several hours to wait after clearing US Customs.

I think UA’s rules would allow me into the Newark Polaris lounge as a connecting passenger, but wonder if I could be missing some eligibility fine print about mixed cabins.
