    hi Lucky

    Thanks for your great blog!

I have had a problem many times and was wondering what your thoughts in general are on this.

I flew air Italy Milan to Cairo.
The only option to credit points was to air Italy, BA or Iberia so I put my iberia plus.
I double checked this 4 times and also asked the lady at checkin

I did not get the points, after a lot of emails and a crazy amount of homework I needed to do in order to claim the miles I got a strange email saying ending with:
“Keep in mind this process can take longer than usual, as the operating airline of your flights is Air Italy.”

The amount of time I spend every year claiming my miles is crazy.
What is your opinion? And with air Italy it even seems worse iberia says…And maybe a theme for a blog article ?

    Keep up the great work
    Thanks
    Kind regards
    Kim

    Email from IBERIA:

    Dear Mr. VAN NIE:

We would like to inform you that we processed the Avios request for the flight MXP-CAI (ticket number 191-xxxxxxxxxx) and we are waiting for the response. If everything is correct, you will see the credit in your account in few weeks. Keep in mind this process can take longer than usual, as the operating airline of your flights is Air Italy.

    Kind regards,
    Your Iberia Plus Service Center.

I think the longer than usual line is for all partner carriers and not limited to Air Italy since they can’t confirm your flight themselves. Also, I’ve had instances where my Air Italy flights ‘mysteriously’ removed my FF number causing me not to get the points. Hopefully you get yours soon!
