    Hi Lucky,

    I have noticed that there are a lot of phantom hainan biz class awards on alaskaair.com. When I search for 2 biz seats on the direct flight from PEK to BOS, the website shows availability on many dates in July ,2017, but the system cannot confirm the partner award space at the final step of checking out.

    I called Hainan Airlines to check the real availability and cross checked the results on alaskaair.com, and found that:
    1, for the dates Alaskaair shows no availability for 2 people, it is because either there is no flight , or there is less than 2 award seats available for “Request”.
    2, for the dates Alaskaair shows availability for 2 people, it usually merely means there are 2 award seats available for “Request”.
    3, Hainan Airlines own online award search is broken, it returns “generic error” for every search I made. But 8 days ago, the online search worked and phone agent can also confirm there were seats ready for redemption without “request” at that time.

    Any solution to that question?

    Could just be some type of glitch and all you can do is wait until it’s fixed. If you really need to find award space and confirm flights, call Alaska and find out what space they’re able to see, instead of relying on the website.
