Pairing OneWorld Bookings

I purchased several Biz class tickets to Thailand on Qatar during their latest sale. ~2k/per person. The tix originate in PHL and I need to purchase positioning flights on AA either with miles or paid. When I do this, will I receive any travel disruption protection since it’s OneWorld carriers? Or do I just get through checked bags? For example, if my flight to PHL from JAX is delayed creating a misconnect, will I be get rebooked on the next flight (or similar) without charge or penalty? Thanks.

Unfortunately neither, as oneworld recently discontinued this benefit: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2016/06/10/oneworld-separate-tickets-protection/
