Overlapping Reservations with AA miles
Hey boys and girls,
So I booked a CX F seat for ORD-HKG flight for February 6th of next year. The only date for HKG-ORD flight that had one CX F seat available was February 7th which I was able to put on hold. Obviously these dates are not the actual dates that I’d like to travel and I just want to lock in the current mileage price. If I’ll go ahead and ticket the return flight for February 7th both my outbound and inbound flights will be overlapping for now. Is it possible that AA computers will catch that and cancel one of my reservations? Thanks!
Maybe. You’re probably best off canceling the return (online) right after booking. As long as you don’t redeposit the miles your ticket should still be valid at the current price.
