No AA upgrade on award booking?
My wife and I are both AA Gold Elite members and booked a trip from CMH-LGA using points through British Airways. I was under the impression that as Gold members we would be put in for complimentary upgrades on flights less than 500 miles, but apparently award tickets are not eligible for upgrades. I’m sure this is probably written in small print somewhere but I don’t remember ever seeing this information before. Is this a new policy or have award tickets always been ineligible for upgrades?
It’s always been this way, or at least for the past several years.
