NGO Mileage Donations

    Hi Lucky (and everyone else)!

I’m writing from a registered not-for-profit arts organization located in Bogotá, Colombia. Although I’m a dual American/Canadian citizen, I moved down here with my Colombian partner and have launched a new arts organization specializing in opera, education and workshops.

That said – we would love to accept mileage donations (primarily from United, Avianca & Air Canada) so that we can help offset costs to bring international teachers to the city. Does anyone know exactly how that process works or who to get in touch with at either of the airlines to make that happen?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and help!

Hello Maikai – I don’t know but I’d think your first step would be to contact each of those airlines’ award departments directly. Good luck!

    Hi Maikai,

To be honest, you’re probably best off working with your donor base to secure cash for purchased tickets, or to just buy the miles yourselves. The programs that offer mileage donations do so at a very poor ratio, and I haven’t heard many positive things.
