Marriott or SPG point redemption

Marriott or SPG point redemption

  1. ryan5379 New Member

I’ve got approx 150,000 Marriott points, that I was planning to use to redeem in Maui (Wailea).

Am I best off to redeem them direct with Marriott, or would I be better off transferring them to SPG points, then using the SPG points to redeem at Marriott?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

I don’t believe Marriott points can be converted to SPG points. It’s one-way SPG-to-Marriott only.

Convert either way 3-1 or 1-3

I stand corrected, though that makes no sense to me.

To clarify further, you can’t use your SPG points at Marriott directly yet, or vice versa. So if you want to redeem points at a Marriott property, you’d need Marriott points.

Unless I’m missing something, which is possible, because it’s been a long week. 😉

No you are good. That’s probably why they have a reverse transfer.
