LH F availability
I plan to travel to Russia this summer (in July) in LH First (well, Germany-Russia will be business, no F on these routes). Anyway, looking at LH First availability from east coast, I noticed that there is F on any routes via FRA, only via MUC. Business class is no problem. But since I like to go via FRA (because of FCT, of course). Why Lufthansa does not release any F seats on their flights to/from FRA? Since I am going to use Lufthansa miles, I thought availability wouldn’t be an issue. Any thoughts?

What cities/airports are you looking at in the east coast Sergey?
It’s entirely possible that whatever availability LH released on the route has already been booked by someone else. LH does tend to release more seats closer to the flight date, ~15 days out.

I looked at MIA, IAD, JFK, even IAH. I don’t know but for me it is quite unlikely that for the whole month of July there is no single flight with single F seat to/from FRA.
@Sergey – are you looking for a revenue seat or for an award seat? If an award seat, while miles are you trying to use? Unless you’re using LH’s own Miles & More, you likely won’t see an award seat available until just a few (two?) weeks before the flight.
@Sergey — If you’re using Lufthansa miles availability is typically very good 5+ months out.
In the 1-4 month range it’s not as good — that’s when Lufthansa sells most of their tickets (particularly for travel over peak dates and school holidays), so it’s not uncommon to not see award space until closer in.

Yes, I’m using Lufthansa miles. And July is 5+ months away.
What I found strange that only options for LH First (almost everyday in July) are to/from MUC and not FRA.

@MidSouth Skier, Sorry if my original post wasn’t clear. I am trying to use Lufthansa miles (so, I am looking for award seats, not revenue – which is, btw, not a problem).
@Sergey — I’m speaking to trends, and rather than thinking about an exact date window, consider the travel period, the school holidays, etc. It doesn’t surprise me at all to see more seats available out of Munich in summer using LH miles, really.
The good news, is that if LH is holding back inventory, there’s a good chance you’d be able to change to a routing through Frankfurt closer to departure.
