LAN award space 330-332 days out?

LAN award space 330-332 days out?

    Hey there.

I always read that LAN would make award space available exactly 330-332 days out (the exact day varies by route) but I have not been seeing that in reality.

I’ve been monitoring the SCL-AKL-SYD (and back) flights but there is literally nothing after Nov 30th. Before that I see 7 J seats available pretty much every day.

Is that normal? Is it because December is considered peak season?

    Thanks.

    Welcome.

In which award program are you try to book this?

We have been getting a very international crowd here lately so I try not to just assume it’s AA.

I will book with AA, but so far I have only been looking at availability trends on BA.com (and Qantas as well), but I’m kinda puzzled by the “hard-stop” on Nov 30th. The plan is to book early March before the devaluation, but I’m trying to keep up with the availability so that it’s easier to book when the time comes.

@Carlos Lopes I wouldn’t be surprised. That is peak summer in the southern hemisphere. When we were in Peru we found a ton of Australian tourists there so I wouldn’t be surprised if traffic is high in December. Good luck.
