Ideas for NYC to Bali

Ideas for NYC to Bali

  1. Murby New Member

    Hi,

I’m trying to plan a trip to Bali next spring. Seems to be a lot of different routings available. Does anyone have some ideas about good premium cabin mileage deals that can get my wife and I there and back?

Most of our points are in Amex (300k) and Chase (100K). I’m a bit new to the mileage world, so any ideas would be awesome.

    Thanks,
    Richard

hi @Murby, you can check http://www.travelcodex.com/award-maximizer/ or miles.biz for an idea of mileage costs. That’s a good way to start. You can also see where your points will transfer at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1M8qx5Y2OTr44R8T0smSEgy3Zsy6E7MMQdtg0hxTzoWU/edit

EVA is a great option. They fly NYC to TPE on a 777 with their top Royal Laurel Class (reverse herringbone with direct aisle access, Lucky has given it an A+ review recently), short layover and then TPE-DPS on an A330-300 – I believe EVA flies that route with their newer, upgraded 330s in 2-2-2 layout. I’m looking at a similar route for a honeymoon next summer.

You could transfer all 300k Amex points and another 90k Chase points to a Singapore KrisFlyer account and book round trip.

You could also spend about the same amount of points and fly Singapore itself, routing through FRA on their A380 business class. But it’d be one more leg: JFK-FRA-SIN-DPS.

Thanks, both! This is VERY helpful

I’ve been looking on the Singapore site, but I can’t seem to get any results for for next May. Am I too soon?

I am seeing a lot of dates in May 2018 with 2 business seats at saver level for JFK-DPS. Make sure you’re logged in when you search!

Yeah, I’m seeing it now. Looks like I’ve have to be waitlisted for the flights, but I guess they will release?
