How to Upgrade on China Eastern flights that I have already booked?

How to Upgrade on China Eastern flights that I have already booked?

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi All,
I need some advice on how to upgrade my economy flights from LAX to PVG to business class via China Eastern. I currently have 100k bonus points on Chase Ultimate Rewards that I can also use, but not sure if I can transfer this to a partner of China Eastern? I dont mind paying a little bit more out of pocket as well to upgrade. What is the best way to scout out those options since the internet aka China Eastern website has not been very helpful?

Usually you’d need the same airline’s miles to upgrade a ticket. Since Chase does not transfer to China Eastern you might be out of luck unfortunately. I’d inquire at check in about paid upgrades although from a few data points on FT the offers don’t seem to be very attractive.
