Hawaiian miles for inter-island flights?

Hawaiian miles for inter-island flights?

  1. ajh2868 New Member

I have Hawaiian Airlines CC and associated miles. If I use these miles for inter-island flights, does bag fee for my first bag still get waived?

What would bag fees be for 2 checked bags on Hawaiian Air for award flight booked using Elevate miles?

With 2 checked bags, would there be a more cost effective option for booking award flights between islands?

If the Hawaiian Airlines credit card waives a checked bag fee as a benefit, you shouldnt have any issues with that benefit as long as you attach your Hawaiian FFN to the booking, regardless of whether youre using miles or cash. If you use Elevate miles, see if you you can add your Hawaiian FFN to the booking for the free checked bag. Otherwise, its $25 for the first bag ($15 for hawaiian miles members, assuming you can attach your hawaiian ffn to the record) and $35 for the second bag ($25 for HA ffn members)

Not that many airlines operating intra-hawaiian flights so there are limited options. Furthermore, they’re probably using smaller planes and may have more restrictive weight limits

The language on the credit card website says that tickets must be purchased directly from Hawaiian and paid for with your Hawaiian credit card. It might work if you put your taxes and fees on the card but can’t say for sure.
