    Hello,

So I have been trying to book a IAD-CDG flight on air france with amex because of the 25% sign up bonus. When I transfer miles, I do not get the bonus so I call amex, and they say business cards do not qualify for the bonus. Would you spend the extra miles (40,000 to 50,000 RT, so 10k more) to buy the same flight or should I choose a different airline? Thanks!

Do you have a way of obtaining United (or Star Alliance) miles? If not, then yes, the extra 10K is worth it. Assuming your destination is Paris, that’s a fair price to pay for a direct flight!

I could transfer Amex points over if they have star alliance transfer partner

Sorry, guess that should’ve been obvious! Wasn’t sure by your original post if you had already transferred your points to AirFrance.

You could use Aeroplan miles to book that United flight (assuming there is availability). It should be 30,000 miles in economy each way

Just checked and it is 30k each way, but Air France was 25k each way so probably a better option. Thanks for the help!
