Eva Airline
Hi- My family has United Flyer accounts and have been accumulate some but till savings – Next Month we are going to Asia for summer trip and We purchased the tickets from Eva Airline ( shorten duration for the kids / better service too ) – My question is : 1/ Should I create the Infinity Mileagelands Accounts for every member to get Mileages from Eva -rather than using Frequency Flyer – Even they are partner but last time ( 2016)- I did not collect much since the long segment operated by Eva Air but not partner ( United ) and this time is the same ! –
2/ Could I use 2 accounts – and get mileages for all segments ?
Thanks,
Lyn
Hi Lyn, you can definitely credit your miles to United, but it may or may not be a good deal. Check out this post to see how many miles you can earn for your flight with the various programs: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2016/08/06/credit-airline-miles/
Hi all
I just checked United Frequency – All My family accounts have been expired in March 2017 ( I have not received any emails noticed ! ) – We will travel by June 2017 ( purchased tickets thr Eva A but partner with United – one segment for each way )
Since the expired is less than 18 months – Do I have to do any thing such as buy miles / transfer or donate miles to RE-store all mileages had been lost ( >87K ) ?
-All the Mileages from each account will be auto generated after travel or I need to call & let them know ! ( call ! :()
– From the Previous question – I was follow the link and plan to create Eva Infinity MileagesLand accounts ( we travel with Eva each year ) – but since this happened we may have to stay with Frequency Flyer.?
Thanks for any input ! Have a great long weekend and be safe !
Lyn
You can reinstate your expired United miles online but there is a fee: https://buymiles.mileageplus.com/united/reinstate/
Have you done any research about EVA Infinity MileageLands? I recommend checking the program and redemption costs first before crediting miles there.

I am not redeem but using an united frequency flyer account to collect more miles ..Understand not much ( i flied 2016 & got only 1160 miles)..for that reason i am about to create an Inf Mlands accounts then realized my Frequency Flyer all are expired…so:
1/ Continue using the United account flyer to fly with Eva is one way to resolve it or
2/ Buy advance tickets from United Airline to travel by the end of this year is the other way?
At least 18 months to act and. From now to Dec 2017 is till time…
Thanks for all inputs…
United gave me two options:
1/Buy back (87k account +2 children less than 35k/account==so costly
2/Register $100/account plus purchase round trip tickets from United Air to travel within 90 days!
Since I purchased tickets to Asia next month operated by Eva Air and Partner to United Air….i am not sure if i register then could using this coming trip for option 2?
Please, help if you guys have any better ideas…. i made a very pricy mistake…checked on my husband ‘s account and bought magazine to reactive but not checking on mine and the kids!?!?? (just went on the 2015..passed 18 months in March !!!…time flies too….)
Thanks again
i had car rental 3 months ago but from Enterprise…not partner with UA! Re-store d all mileages will côst me more than 600$!!!
Hi Lyn, aside from your upcoming trip on EVA… do you have other trips planned? If you don’t, it may not be worth spending the money to reinstate your miles.
Obviously once the accounts are active there are plenty of ways to keep it active moving forward (United dining rewards, shopping portals, Chase UR transfers, etc.). But, you should really weigh the cost of reactivating those miles.
I do plan another trip by the end of this year…due to the time frame 18 months to reinstate and 90 days after registered (pay 100$)..I am not sure if it is possible to wait till Sep or Oct to register then buy tickets to go in December 2017? (My all acounts expired in March 2017)
The UA advised my best option is to use the” Register and Credit Card Challenge.”…But i am not sure if there is a certainly amount spending when re_applied.. and the 100$pay for register is for all accounts or only my main account?….I researched online many picked that option but end up no miles reinstated …
I have those questions for The UA too but dont get the answer in details…look like they have that in format ready answers!!!!!
Thanks…
Have a safe weekend.!
Lyn
Lyn, there’s a solution that’s a bit dodgy that you can try. If you search online, there are some forums where people sell past receipts for car rental that you could then use to reinstate your account by claiming missing miles on those car rentals…
I’ve never personally done it but saw some forums with people doing that.. Might be something to investigate.
