    Hi Lucky,
since today I have Airberlin silver status which is equal oneworld ruby status. I have about 20000 miles in my account. The problem is for redemption I can´t find any sweetspot. Do you have any suggestion for redeeming Airberlin miles?

I am thinking about opening an AA Account, just for the purpose that I can purchase miles the next time the offer a bonus on purchase of AAdvantage miles. Can I just open an AAdvantage account for this purpose?

Thank you very much for your help.
    Best, Chris

@ Chris — You absolutely can open an American account for the purposes of buying miles, but you’ll need to wait at least 30 days before they let you buy miles. As far as airberlin goes, where are you based and where do you want to travel? They have some good values on Etihad.
