Recently had my Lifemiles business class award ticked for August( Nice to LAX) canceled by Swiss Air with neither Avianca or Swiss Air advising me. Tried to rebook directly with Swiss but was told Avianca must rebook. Spent hours and hours on hold then could not hear or understand a word being spoken but was finally told that Swiss refuses to rebook and that I will get my miles back( have to wait for 5 months to get my taxes back). Very hard to get a replacement award with other airlines within a short time and now have to delay leaving a day with hotel cost and more miles with British Airways)
So the refund now adds to my pile of Lifemiles, but finding business class award availability to Europe( from LAX) anywhere is almost non existant ..even at the earliest dates bookable.. I have tried dozens and dozens of routings.but nada.
Anyone else having this issue? Are the other airlines no longer giving them business class award availability. This has been a great program for me over the last years, but looks like it is coming to an expensive end..
Lastly there appears to be a new column ‘Find Other Fares’ which is extremely rediculous allowing the flight you want for hundreds of thousands of miles and a large cash element…totally rediculous eg for the above routing could be a million miles and $5000…hmmm
Hi, sorry this has been so complicated for you! I just flew Swiss in business yesterday on a Lifemiles award and had no issues at all (CDG to JFK). There could still be some pandemic related issues with flights being cancelled, especially in Europe with the Delta variant of the COVID rising quickly.
