correct mileage to charge in case of downgrade on AA
Hello,
I have an itinerary on hold on AA TPA-ORD-PVG, which was in First originally (thanks to massive opening on AA asia flights). Next day AA swapped B777-200 on ORD-PVG to B787, which doesn’t have a first class. Anyway, when I want to ticket my itinerary, AA wants to charge me 67.5K (for F) instead of 55K (for J). Is it a correct way? I called and AA agent insists that since TPA-ORD is in First (Z bucket), the whole itinerary is priced correctly. It’s even shows ORD-PVG as Z bucket, while there is no F on such flight. What should I do?
@Sergey I would hang up and call again a few times until you get it resolved. Long haul J combined with domestic F should price at J, not F.
@Gaurav, thanks a lot! I called again and got a very nice agent, who didn’t object and with help of her supervisor changed an award to J and it was priced correctly. Thanks again!
