Booking LHR-DME in BA First using AAdvantage miles.

Booking LHR-DME in BA First using AAdvantage miles.

    This question is pretty straightforward:

BA 233 is often flown by a 777 with First Class on it. It seems bookable with BA Avios (check the picture), but it is not available on aa.com.

Is there any way around this? And If so, how many miles would that cost?
    Thank you!

@Tmatzkeit airlines often release seats to their own FF members that are not available to partners. You could try checking Qantas or JAL to see if those sites show availability. If they do, you can try calling in to AA to book. Other than that you’re out of luck if you only have AA miles.

Based on the AA award chart here: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2014/06/08/american-aadvantage-award-routing-rules/ an intra Europe award would cost 10k in Y and 20k in J.

Good luck–I gave the wrong link for mileage. It is http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/redeemMiles/all-partner-chart.jsp

    Ok, something weird happened.

I called AA and this lady did try to put us on F. She went through all the process and told me the record locator for it. I thought it was a pretty good deal, as it was priced the same as business class + $110 in fees BUT when I went to check the actual flight info on both AA and BA websites I realized that all I got was the regular J.

Not sure if I should try calling again or not.

I would if that’s what you want. Expect to pay the difference in mileage but there shouldn’t be any change fees.
