Booking Delta One to PVG

Booking Delta One to PVG

I want to book a roundtrip itinerary from SLC to PVG for late May 2019. I’m just wandering when the best time to book that is. I’ve never booked anything but economy and I’m trying to get the best use out of these miles. I’m fine with redeeming on a partner airline (i.e. China Eastern) as long as there is a lie-flat seat. Most of the cheaper tickets I’ve seen (<200k miles) say on the Delta website "only 3/4 left at this price." Not sure if that means they're about to sell out or if Delta just hasn't made many seats available for award redemptions yet. In short, should I book this ticket now or wait until the spring?

200k is not saver award space. I think US-Asia should be somewhere along the lines of 80-90k Delta miles, one way. There’s no “best” time other than to keep checking and to book an available flight when an option comes up that works for you.
