Hello everyone,

I was hoping to get some advice for a newbie trying to book the right award travel for my honeymoon to the Maldives. I’m not in the Miles&Points game long so have accumulated 80k SPG points, 115k delta skymiles (fiance 65k), SW Companion Pass, 15k Avios. Just accepted for BA Signature card. I will have a lot of expenses for the wedding & honeymoon in the coming weeks & months so will meet min. spend quite easily. No flexibility on departure date.

Best options found so far (all economy)
Delta: 40k miles o/w SLC > MLE (via CDG and SVO).
Transfer 80k SPG to Alaska airlines and book MLE > DXB > SLC (42.5k miles each) for return leg.
Advantage of stopover in Dubai for a few days. (Like the idea of visiting Dubai for a stopover but if better options wrt use of miles & points, I am open to it e.g. CMB, NRT.. )
Alaska has availability both ways, 42.5k o/w each.
Flights with Emirates around $1600 booked directly.

I don’t know if another miles program would be a better option for the SPG points.
Whether it’s best to use the miles for a hotel in Dubai e.g. 4 nights Starwood hotel = 48k points vs. same hotel on booking.com = $1000.
Wait a bit and both apply for Alaska Visa card (50-60k points, buy miles for difference, a offer was emailed today 15k miles = ~$350).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
