Best mileage currency for short-haul Star Alliance awards?

Best mileage currency for short-haul Star Alliance awards?

Hi, I will be traveling to Europe next summer and am looking to visit Toulouse, France (gotta see the Airbus plant!) and would like to travel to Munich after Toulouse. Lufthansa has nonstop flights, but they are $354 one-way! That is crazy! It’s only a 1h30m flight!

What would be the best mileage currency to redeem for these flights? I’m willing to transfer points or apply for credit cards; I’m just wondering who has the lowest prices in miles.

Thanks!

Am assuming Economy is OK for such a short flight.

United charges 15K miles
Miles & More is also 15K miles but $66 in fees (or you could use an additional 18K miles to cover that $66 – horrible deal!)
Aeroplan is 12.5K
Singapore is 12.5K
LifeMiles is 15K

Got much of this info from this post on TravelIsFree.com. It’s a year old now and slightly out of date but is a handy reference point.

Or if you have some Avios handy you could check for AirBerlin availability…
