I am reading this blog for months, not because of miles but mostly for trip reports. However I have done some flying recently and collected some Miles and more miles. So I went to check how much would be the ticket VIE NYC and back. It’s 60000 in economy plus taxes fees etc which come to 350 €. Since a bought ticket cost 450 € it makes 60000 miles to been worth only 100 €. Did I get that right or am I missing something?

@Tomislav — You got that right! Miles&More levies hefty fuel surcharges, and their awards really aren’t worthwhile for economy. I’d look at saving up a few more miles and using them towards a business or first class ticket, which would otherwise cost thousands or tens of thousands.

Thanks for a quick reply. I was quite disappointed…. Seems I will save a bit more and upgrade to business 🙂
