BA Avios for AA MIA-Caribbean

BA Avios for AA MIA-Caribbean

Hi Ben! Despite having redeemed on several occasions with excellent availability on most every date/route combination in the past, I’ve noticed that there is no availability of economy seats on AA flights from MIA to destinations throughout the Caribbean. Only first class is available. Is this the new game, whereby not only are the 4500 mile redemptions gone, but the only thing available is at double the price? Have you or anyone else noticed/experienced this? Any insight/advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi Greg!

That’s definitely frustrating, but is also the reality of increasingly complex airline inventory management. Routes are getting optimized, planes are full, etc., so it’s certainly possible that certain regions don’t have much in the way of economy award space. Hopefully it’s a blip in time, rather than a new trend!
