Award Flights to Tahiti-Creative Options?
My wife and I are looking at the possibility of Tahiti in the summer of 2017. I know some of the more traditional routes to Tahiti with miles (Air France and Air Tahiti Nui), but wondering if there are some other options routing through Asia or New Zealand or ???.
Our main interest would be flying first or business class (first if possible), and would be fine with a longer routing since I don’t see a trip to Asia in the long-term future so this trip could be an opportunity to try out some of the Asian carriers. So wanted to see what thoughts and ideas folks have! BTW…our home airports are SEA and YVR. Thanks!
Well your choices are limited by the airlines that fly into PPT for the final stretch and their hubs.

The only other options are getting to Auckland and take Air New Zealand from there.
Taking Hawaiian true Honolulu
Or finally LAN out of Santiago.
No Asian airlines fly directly to PPT, sadly.
It’s also worth noting that neither Air New Zealand nor LAN release much, if any, premium cabin space on those routes 🙁
I would probably just stick to the options from LAX, personally.
Thanks to both of you! Looks like LAX it is! Thanks for the link No Name. I guess if we wanted to book two separate awards could fly to Tokyo and then onward on Air Tahiti Nui, but probably not the best use of miles. Thanks again!
