Award change after a devaluation

Award change after a devaluation

  1. Anonymous Guest

I have two award tickets booked on CX for next October. I was able to snag one F seat and got the other in J with plans to upgrade to F when the space opens up. With a potential AA devaluation ever present, increasingly so by the time F space has opened up a few days before the flight, will the upgrade be priced at the old award pricing since it was booked before the devaluation or would it be priced at the new award pricing since technically what they are doing is canceling the existing award and reissuing? I have a feeling it’s the later for the reason I stated but I’ve never had to deal with such a situation so I honestly don’t know.

@Mike I think they’ll announce that with the devaluation. I think it could go either way but scenario two is probably more likely.

*Fingers crossed they are gentle on Asia Region 1 F redemptions.*
