Award availability for Etihad disappears for an hour or two and then reappears?
Hi all,
I’ve been closely watching Etihad award availability for the last couple of weeks (e.g. couple of routes at least 4 times a day, I know, way to obsessed by the hobby) and noticed something odd.
At around 3PM each day till probably 5PM (although sometimes 4PM) local time (GMT+8, imaginary points if anyone can guess what country I’m in), that all Etihad availability disappears from their Guest variety seats. But after these times, it all reappears.
I’ve also gone and had a look at the award availability through Etihad partners that I am signed up to and noticed the award availabilty completely disappears from their system as well, including the flights, not just there is no space in awards but their systems show no flights at all. But for good measure, to pick up those [-]idiot[/-] uninformed FF’s, they leave in the full points balance codeshare flight which runs on Etihad metal anyway.
My question is has anyone else noticed this occurring or am I losing my marbles seeing disappearing availability?

Welcome.
Frankly have not bothered to follow Etihad space as closely as you, but my first guess if it happens the same time every day would be a computer system taken off line for backup.
Or it’s the time that a janitor unplug something/trips a fuse he/she should not to run the vacuum cleaner/floor polish machine/coffee machine/moonshine still/take your pick.
