AMEX Business Platinum Points
I have accumulated 110,000 American Express Reward Points from the AMEX Business Platinum card. When I look at using the points to pay for charges, it seems I only get about $650 value. I paid the $450 annual fee, so this does not seem to be a good deal. When I signed up, I thought the ad material said 100K points would be worth $1000. Does not seem to be true. Can you advise is there a better way to use these points to get better value?
Hi John, redemption values for MR varies based on the method of redemption. As you’ve discovered, redeeming towards statement credit is one of the lowest value options. If you log in to membershiprewards.com you should see all your options. Redeeming towards paid travel in economy on your airline choice carrier or premium cabins on any airline should give you at least 2c/point.
