American Rewards Flying
3 years ago I flew from SMF to LAX and onto Mardid via American and Iberia. It was 40K miles round trip – had a great time. I planned to go this spring back to Madrid. American routed me SMF to SeaTac, to Heathrow, and on to Madrid. The return flight was Madrid to Philadelphia with a 12 hour layover. Does American not like rewards flights? Also I had 400.00 in airport fees whereas the last time there was no airport charge.
Thank you in advance
You are probably taking a BA flight from Heathrow instead of an AA flight.. Find an AA flight and the fees will go down drastically. BA charges fees, AA doesn’t, but most award availability is through BA as people don’t book those high-fee flights
