Alaska redemption from Asia to Australia
I know Alaska Air allows you to fly from HKG to Oz with Cathay Pacific. Are you allowed to fly from say BKK to HKG to SYD as well or does the flight have to originate in HKG?
@Luis unfortunately I believe the start point has to be HKG.
Correct, only Cathay Pacific, and only from Hong Kong: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mileage-plan/award-chart/award-chart-australia.aspx
Thank you

It’s possible if you book it’s as 2 different awards

There is a published rate for Intra-Asia travel on CX.
Have looked into the possibility of doing a paid ticket BKK-HKG? You can normally find very affordable premium tickets on this route, including one-ways. Might be cheaper than using miles for a second award ticket.

Yeah I’ll probably just book a paid ticket to position to HKG
