Anonymous GuestHello, can anyone help me..I am trying to use Alaska miles for a trip from Germany to South Africa J class EK or LH, LX but always get an error message will only show flights that originate in the US.
Am I doing something wrong?

No, you’re not doing anything wrong. Alaska only allows redemptions that begin or end in North America with very few exceptions and Europe to Africa is not one of them. Furthermore, Alaska does not partner with Lufthansa or Swiss at all so you would not be able to redeem miles for flights on those airlines.
You can get awards for Europe to Hong Kong and Hong Kong to Africa on Cathay Pacific but that is obviously indirect.
