Advice please: EK A380 F vs. SQ B773ER “new F”

Advice please: EK A380 F vs. SQ B773ER “new F”

    Hi everyone,

Well, we got hit by SQ dropping the A380 on LAX-NRT-SIN. So, I’d love to hear your opinions — would you stick with the SQ “new F” on the replacement B777-300ER, or fly EK F on the A380?

We’re flying LAX-BKK, so SQ would be LAX-NRT-SIN-BKK (with SIN-BKK in business) and EK would of course be LAX-DXB-BKK in A380 F on both segments. Obviously we save a segment flying EK instead of SQ.

    What would you do?

    Thanks,
    Todd

While both the F products are great, I think one cannot compare SQ experience to EK’s 380. Definitely the downgrade of SQ A380 to 777 puts EK at a favorable position in your case. With no hate against SQ 777, I would swing my way towards EK 380. After all, shower @ 35K feet beats nothing. In my opinion, SIN is a better airport to transit through than DXB but I assume, you will not be spending a ton of time in the airport in either of the case.
    I vote EK.

Agreed. When traveling with a spouse/normal person, fewer segments on bigger planes is always better.

That being said, if the DXB-BKK A380 flight is still in the middle of the night it might be worth having the conversation to see what they prefer. I might take the 777 as a day flight next time versus the awful 6-hour red-eye, but that’s just me.

Thank you both. I think my other half would value the better flight experience (hard/soft products) over saving the segment; that was just a potential bonus of the EK itinerary.

What do you think about the the EK A380 F flight experiences vs. the SQ B777-300ER “new F” flight experience?

    Thanks!
