I had to cancel an award reservation recently. How long does it take for AA to redeposit the miles? How long should I wait before I call in again?

From some Flyer Talk threads it seems that it should be fairly quickly after the redeposit fee (if any) goes through on your credit card. If that’s happened or if you’re an elite member who’s not charged for that, I’d think 48 hours or less is not unreasonable. (Though you’d think an hour or two would be plenty.)

Recently had to call AA about an award that was double-charged. It took some time on the phone, and the agent I spoke to mentioned it might take 24-48 hours, but she was able to get the miles refunded to me while I was talking to her.
