Hi!

So I booked my first AA mile redemption from LAX to BKK on Cathay Pacific for Dec 1 on economy, hoping to snag a First Class seat when it opens. I have a few questions regarding this experience:

1. What are my chances of snagging a First seat? good? bad? impossible?

2. When should I expect seats to be available and start monitoring BA’s search tool like a hawk?

3. I called in to make the reservation on Saturday night, but since the system was down for maintenance, they couldn’t ticket it so it was put on hold.

4. I then called in on Sunday to get it ticketed and the rep said everything is confirmed except for the seats and that Cathay requires seats to be confirmed as well and she needed to submit it another way… She said I should expect an email with the reservation confirmation by Monday. I’ve still yet to receive it. Also, I noticed that my points are still intact and haven’t been deducted from my account and that online still indicates that it’s “On Request.” Should I be worried my reservation wasn’t ticketed?
