AA miles or Etihad miles for Etihad 1st class

AA miles or Etihad miles for Etihad 1st class

  1. Anonymous Guest

Post AA devaluation, USA -> AUH on Etihad will be 110K AA miles, pretty close to Etihad’s GuestFirst’s redemption rate at 117,556 miles (+~$180)

Etihad is a transfer partner of Citi ThanYou (1:1) given it’s easier to earn ThankYou points than AA miles (more category bonus opportunity) does it make sense to collect and transfer ThankYou points to Etihad for its first class award redemption?

I’d like to hear your thoughts.

    Thanks,

Rich, I think it’s certainly a viable option. I’ve heard of lengthy transfer times for TYP to Etihad but other than that and the higher cash outlay it’s certainly something that’s nice to have as an option.
