Amex Resy Credits Improve, Soon Redeemable At Tock Restaurants

10

If you have the Amex Platinum Card or Amex Gold Card (and in turn, have a Resy restaurant credit), there’s reason to be excited, as your options for getting a statement credit for dining out will soon be increasing significantly.

Amex Resy credits become even more useful

Amex acquired dining platform Resy back in 2019, and then acquired dining platform Tock in 2024, with the goal of merging the two together. As of this summer we’ve seen Tock merged into Resy, and that’s about to have even bigger implications for cardmembers.

As of September 15, 2026, Amex’s Resy credits will expand to include select Tock restaurants. Cardmembers of course need to be sure that their card is enrolled in the Resy credit benefit, and should also ensure that the venue has the “Resy Credit eligible” badge on the venue page.

The plan is that more Tock restaurants will become eligible for the Resy credit as time goes on, over the course of several months.

Several weeks ago, many people were concerned when Amex updated the terms of the Resy credit benefit, stating that in the future, restaurants “must be indicated as eligible for the Resy Credit on the Resy website or the Resy app at the time of purchase to qualify for the benefit.”

Many of us were concerned that only a subset of Resy restaurants would start to be eligible for this credit, but as it turns out, this change was just intended to prepare for the Tock integration into Resy. So it’s absolutely good news.

The Amex Resy credit will be usable at more restaurants

This is fantastic news for Amex cardmembers

We saw the Amex Platinum Card undergo a refresh in late 2025, and while the annual fee increased, we also saw several new perks added. The fact that the up to $400 annual Resy credit just became even more valuable makes this card even more of a no-brainer.

Between the up to $400 annual Resy credit and the up to $600 annual hotel credit, the card’s annual fee is more than covered, as I see it. This was one of the rare premium card refreshes where I’d argue that the value proposition actually improved.

The Amex Platinum has become more useful over time

Bottom line

As of September 15, 2026, we’ll gradually see Amex card Resy credits redeemable at Tock restaurants, given that the platform is being integrated into Resy. This increases the potential value of those credits, for those who struggle to find Resy restaurants. Kudos to Amex on this change.

Will you benefit from the expanded use of Amex Resy credits?

I've never been able to use the hotel benefit - the available properties are just too expensive! I have been using the Resy Credits though. It's hard to justify that $895 fee though - now that I'm not buying so many airline tickets!

There are 0 resy and 1 tock restaurant in Springfield MO where I live. Not fully useful. For personal travel, maybe but not as wide of a selection as opentable. My business travel often comes with free food so still not compelling. But at least they are adding and not subtracting.

FHR price is often grossly inflated so not sure how “the card’s annual fee is more than covered”. As for THC, hotel stay minimums are a no go.

This current version of Amex plat is a mediocre travel card. So it’s a no go for me. Canceled mine in may, just in time for sapphire reserve big welcome offer. Not a great card either but better travel benefits than Amex plat. Hopefully chase improves if before my annual fee renews.

It's funny. I have found I can find an FHR hotel with a relatively close price to what I would pay with a direct booking (although sometimes can't match special deals) but I have been struggling to find an Edit hotel that isn't grossly overpriced which would effectively wipe out the $250 credit. When the same hotel is the Edit and FHR, FHR seems cheaper. Decided to downgrade my husband's CSR because it isn't worth...

When the same hotel is the Edit and FHR, FHR seems cheaper. Decided to downgrade my husband's CSR because it isn't worth the stress of finding hotels to cover two cards credits. Even even though the Platinum is a terrible earner, it is easy for me to make up the cost. Our favorite local restaurant is on Tock, so I am really hoping it is part of the Resy credit

Well you're not doing your homework then. I've made several rebookings through fhr to get better rates than the hotels themselves. I've booked Hiltons through fhr with better benefits than with my Hilton diamond. I have never gotten better rates via csr in the years I held the card and I got the card when it first came out. Tired of seeing eroding brnefits which is why I canceled my csr earlier this year.

@Ben, any news on the Classic Green card? Refresh? Increase AF? Discontinued? Adding Resy credits?

Maybe there will be an announcement around August 20th when the name change for the Amex Green goes into effect.

I hope this is actually the good news that it seems like. Pardon me for being skeptical of changes at first, because even when it was announced that there's to be a “Resy Credit eligible” badge starting this month, I full expected to lose some of my go-to's. Thankfully, that did not happen... so far.

Contrast this with Chase's Sapphire whatever opentable thing; horrible. So limited; often removing favorites. Yikes. Good on Amex; poopoo on Chase.
