While JetBlue has fare sales pretty often, they have an especially good one right now that’s valuable if you’re planning travel for the rest of the year.
JetBlue is offering 30% off flights booked by 11:59PM ET on October 19, 2016 (tomorrow), or while supplies last, so this could very well be pulled earlier.
The basic terms of the promotion are as follows:
- Valid for one-way or roundtrip travel originating in the US (including Puerto Rico) to any JetBlue destination
- Valid for travel between October 26 and December 15, 2016, with blackout dates between November 18 and November 28, 2016
- In order to take advantage of this promotion you have to book through the specific promotion page, using code BIG30
- Not valid on Mint fares or award flights
While there are the above exclusions, outside of that the 30% off sale is available on all flights, so this can represent an incredible deal. For example, take the below flights between New York and Los Angeles, which are pricing out at ~$105 one-way.
JetBlue’s TrueBlue frequent flyer program is revenue based. That means that typically when there’s a fare sale you also save on award tickets, given that their cost is correlated to revenue ticket costs. However, in this case you have to book through the special promotion page to get these lower fares, and as a result award tickets aren’t discounted, since they’re based on the pre-promotion price.
If you do take advantage of this promotion, be sure you use a credit card that maximizes your return on airfare spend, like the JetBlue Plus Card (which offers 6x TrueBlue points on JetBlue purchases) or The Platinum Card® from American Express (which offers 5x Membership Rewards points on airfare purchases).
