Etihad Offering 25% Off Select Business Class Awards

Etihad Guest is my favorite loyalty program of the “big three” Gulf carriers. They’re the only program that has decent redemption rates on their own flights, and they also have some great niche redemption opportunities on partner airlines.

Etihad is offering a useful award sale at the moment, offering discounts on their GuestSeat awards in select markets. There are a few basic terms to be aware of:

  • Valid for bookings made through August 10, 2019
  • Valid for travel through October 30, 2019
  • Must book using Etihad Guest miles, either online or by phone (so this doesn’t apply to partner redemptions)
  • Valid for travel in economy and business class

The following markets are eligible for this:

  • Abu Dhabi to/from Seoul
  • Abu Dhabi to/from London
  • Abu Dhabi to/from Paris
  • Abu Dhabi to/from Dublin
  • Abu Dhabi to/from Manchester

Unfortunately no US markets are included, though those are still some potentially pretty useful routes, in my opinion, as even cities like London, Paris, and Seoul are eligible for this offer.

For example, with this sale you could fly from Abu Dhabi to London in business class for just 47,201 Etihad Guest miles…

Or you could fly from Abu Dhabi to Seoul in business class for just 54,766 Etihad Guest miles.

I’d note that in many cases you’ll find lower redemption rates booking through American AAdvantage, though American miles are also harder to come by.

Etihad Guest is transfer partners with Amex Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou, and Capital One, so there are some great options for earning those miles.

Etihad has a solid business class product, in particular on their 787 and A380. They have dine on demand, Wi-Fi, and fully flat seats with direct aisle access.

Anyone plan to take advantage of this Etihad Guest award sale?

Got reallly sick after the caviar service in F AUH-SYD Oct and again in Dec , unless I've got an allergy to black sturgeon Gold !

Agree with Endre. I won't fly Etihad again - flew LAX to AUH in J and it was easily the worst service I've ever experienced. They ran out of food in the first 3 hours of the flight and we only saw one flight attendant serving the cabin over 16 hours.

Not an Award type of flyer but I must let you know that the service on Etihad is not as food as it used to be. Flew with them twice in First (paid ticket) last May and I noticed quite a drop. I can only imagine that their business and Economy product also got devalued
