United Flight Attendants Abandoning Passengers On Planes
Several months ago, I wrote about how American Airlines was reportedly having an issue, whereby flight attendants were leaving passengers on aircraft at the end of flights. As it turns out, United Airlines is having a similar problem.

Flight attendants do an amazing job taking care of passenger safety
Strongly disagree. Every single evacuation we see passengers with rolling luggage on the tarmac. That must mean, contrary to procedure, passengers got their bag out of the overhead before evacuating. You’re not even supposed to take your underseat personal item with you in an evacuation.
Saying FAs do an amazing job is disrespectful to those who actually do. It’s like saying nurses save lives when they don’t know shit. Nurses get into nursing because they’re too lazy to go through medical school. Then they want the valor of working in healthcare.
The only people I respect in society are high end professional service workers, and even then, only those at competent firms.
Do you respect actual law firm partners including real Skadden people who really makes $6MM a year?
Ben, thank you for providing more information about the failings within the U.S. airline industry.
This is yet another example of the poor management performance by failing to provide adequate crew training, furthermore, failing to put measures in place to ensure that cabin crew carry out their duties as required by the regulatory authority.
Nobody can blame this poor show on POTUS or any of his flunkies.
Please remind me never to set foot on board a U.S. run airline ever again …. the race to the bottom continues.
How hard is it to walk down the cabin and see if there are passengers on board. It’s their job.
I’ve worked in many areas of airport operations. What’s even stranger than the flight crew bailing is the fact that multiple cleaners are supposed to go through every isle and seat after passenger deplaning. Did the ground crew just ignore a passenger asleep in their seat? Even if the final flight of a day, cabin maintenance/turn over needs to occur. Bizarre failure on so multiple levels.
Ben, while sleeping through a landing may be difficult, it is really easy to fall asleep after the plane has parked and the engines are off if you are in a way-back economy window seat waiting for everyone else to leave. Especially after a long westbound daytime flight.
Because flight attendants stop getting paid when the front door opens. So they aren't paid to look for remaining passengers. My guess is now that some airlines have boarding pay, in the next round of contracts, you will get "check the plane for leftover passenger" pay.
Maybe if they were paid for pre- and post- flight duties, they would care.
There was an interesting open letter recently from the writers of Alex, a British cartoon running for 38 years.
They mentioned that their initial intent was to satirise greedy bankers, but the main character ended up being embraced by the intended targets ...
So because they’re no longer being paid they are allowed to neglect the duties of their job?!
It's time they reduced the pay rate when FA's are flying and give some of that savings to pay for boarding/de boarding.
Then FAs would not all be rushing to get a flight home .
"Flight attendants do an amazing job taking care of passenger safety.." ahahaha
Thanks Lucky, I needed a good laugh.
"Flight attendants ...arming and disarming doors..." Yes they do... but of course there is a light in the cockpit that would warn the pilots of a non-locked door. Not rocket science.
"Flight attendants ...evacuating passengers during en emergency.." too funny. They mostly panic and screech. And open a door to sink the plane (Hudson landing) or step over passengers running away (AA flight in Dallas).
The could... but what a pay cut... sitting on their butts for the 1st hour and last hour of a flight... no pay.... okay.
