National is by far my favorite as well. I get deep discounts as a part of an organization I’m with. But aside from that, having Executive status has always given me really good cars. Most recently, I booked a Toyota Corolla and got a hybrid Jeep Grand Cherokee from the emerald aisle. Had positive experiences overseas as well. I went to Scotland last year and they didn’t have my car class available (intermediate SUV). But they did have a Mercedes S class and gave that to me for no additional charge. In fact, they gave me a discount when I returned it. LOL!
I have Executive Elite status (the Elite designation doesn’t do much more than standard Executive) through Hilton Diamond status, but as stated, it is also available through my Amex Surpass and CSR, so it is easy to get and reaps many privileges. My last 3 rentals have been an Audi A5, Volvo S60, and Cadillac (something), all at the midsized rate. It is a great program.
Your non stop breeze airways pop ups are insufferable on mobile, rendering this sure useless….5 times it reappeared over the 3 minute read of this article, pathetic
Two things:
1. Executive Elite does have more perks than Executive. First is guaranteed availability with at least 24 hours notice. Second is free days come after 5 rentals, not 6. Third, and best, is that when you do use free days, there are many more car classes open to award availability. I've been able to go all the way up to reserved Luxury SUVs on award days, not hoping there was one on the Aisle.
2. These cards don't allow you to "earn" executive status. They allow you to "obtain" executive status. Actual paying customers "earn" status. I've been in 50+ rentals a year since 2019, including Covid years, where I maintained my status thru actual rentals. I didn't need the extensions National gave out.

Exec elite is needed to profit from free days.
As exec only you will find all classes blocked except mini and eco outside of USA and only to compact in the States.
