Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer's New Promo Awards

It would be good to remember that Krisflyer is one of the most dishonest programs that exists. I have previously related my bad luck with these fraudsters. The kicker is that if you try to complain they will harass you with nightly phone calls, always timed for 3 AM. Despite multiple requests, they did not stop the calls till I gave up. I am sure that they were very aware of the destination time when they phoned me.

Seems like it's potentially just an evolution of spontaneous escapes type discounted tickets with a better way of showing it in the booking engine (as you can still book a normal saver ticket if you want flexibility) - similar to AA websaver etc

Agree though, no idea who they think will be gambling 10000s of miles on a non-refundable non changeable ticket currently!!

Rather than devaluation, I see it as an additional flexibility. During spontaneous escape times, the saver awards automatically gets priced to the discounted non flex ones and you do not have a choice to book with flexibility using the saver option. By having this extra category, it frees up the saver to operate as intended.

Why one would gamble their CC points/miles into an inflexible fare from an airline based on one of the most closed-off countries in the world right now is beyond me. Keep your MR/UR/TYP safe from such "promos", folks.

Thanks for the update Lucky. Sam G, thanks for the clarification. If it wasn't for my location (SE VA) & the expiration policy of Singapore, I may have transferred some miles to Singapore when the last transfer promo came around. As it is, I don't have any miles with Singapore at the moment.
