We've been mentioning Oman Air quite a lot recently. For most of us, this might be the most interesting news we'll hear from them in a while. Oman Air has a small fleet of A330-300s that are equipped with first class. These aircraft are primarily used on their London flights, but also visit other destinations…

This is surprising. I thought they've let go of their plan to introduce this on the 787-9 that's why they opted for 30 business class seats.

Times have changed. Once J class was a leg rest, 15% more seat reclining and larger arm rest. Today business class are way better than any comforts provided in private a Gulfstream jet.

What point&smile currency can be used to book Oman first class and how much does it cost?

Surely A330's are not so old that they need to be replaced? OK, some can be 20 years old, but they are still being made and there is a new version - A330-neo.

I really enjoyed Oman Air's business class seat and service - but the connection in Muscat is a mess, the lounge crowded, ground staff unfriendly/uncaring...
I don't think I'd want to pay for First Class and deal with all of that. Unless they have better ground service for First Class, I'll pass!

@Martin, I'm pretty sure new A330-300s went into service earlier this year. I flew a Garuda 330 recently that felt factory-fresh. Ironic that this used to be one of my least favorite planes, yet, now, because of how bloody uncomfortable the 787/A350 and 3-4-3 configured 777 has made economy travel, it's become a plane I seek out if I'm flying coach (which is 90% of the time).

My wife and I are very pleased with Oman Air, especially the Ground Service in Muscat is second to none. Since we reside in Europe and Goa,India, we fly several times per year from AMS to GOI via MCT and vice versa.Unfortunately on this route Oman Air is using there outdated 737s till better days come.
