After a significant delay, Qatar Airways’ Boeing 787-9s (which feature Qatar Airways’ all new business class product) are finally scheduled to enter service. The airline has now revealed the destinations that will be served by this new aircraft type.

QR previously flew their LATAM A350's to Barcelona on the QR 145/146 flight, so this will be an awesome upgrade for Business Class passengers. The LATAM A350's however also had an extra legroom economy cabin which QR hadn't removed, so you could select those for free since they don't formally sell it.
Qatar will likely use their 787-9 for short haul routes, and to upgrade 787-8 and non-qsuite routes with less demand. Then they can allocate the Qsuite A350s and 777s to other premium and long haul routes.
I've got DOH-ATH booked in late September, but the equipment hasn't switched out yet from the 787-8. Here's hoping!
