There is a difference between spewing vitriol and maximizing value.

As many frequent readers may know, outsized value can come for redeeming for business class on short haul European flights.

As you say, looked like the average PP Lounge, with nicer decor and decent liquor selection/variety for a pre-flight topper!!..... But the food looked much better than I expected and certainly need before a 2 hour max flight out of NCE!! Beats the PP Lounge at BWI!

As we also live in Nice, this is my "almost home base" .. the other being SFO. Just a couple weeks ago I had an early saturday flight - -arrive at 7am and for probably the 1st hour I was the only passenger in the lounge - -it was eerie! in terms of food breadth -- yeah, it's not full on buffet but since most flights departing from here are short or fairly short haul, their market is largely 1-3 hour flights (for the most part) .. so the food options are OK ++ the staff here are really accommodating. If I'm flying BA, the Canopy Lounge in the same terminal I think is a touch nicer at least in terms of physical space.

You’re missing the whole point of the Blog.

I have often flown Business on a short flight in Europe (and elsewhere) generally as part of a Bus. or F ticket.
You get all the benefits of Business travel, except for crappier seating intra-Europe, and possibly lacklustre lounges such as this one.
Nice is a small airport, but since it does have international departures maybe full-service lounges (OW and/or *A ) is justified.
I recall a few years back there being a lounge for OW passengers at least, equallly as dismal as the Library. Is this still operational, or is the Library lounge its replacement?

I use this lounge quite often, and I agree that the food options are rather underwhelming. The atmosphere in the lounge is fairly nice, though - it‘s reasonably quiet, and the staff is friendly.

Some feedback as to the rating system: It would be great if the review rating could be changed to the bottom or have a setting to not be automatically displayed. It always sort of spoilers the review for me a bit if I see the score before reading through it.

Champagne is available on demand though the lounge notes this in very small print (which was captured in one of Ben's images). On my visit there, they indeed would bring out a glass from the kitchen upon request.

The protocol is to purchase a small tarte tropézienne, smuggle it into the Lounge and then request a champagne from the accommodating staff - makes this Lounge experience so much better.

I have been to this lounge on a few occasions and always found it quiet, relaxing and ample beverages and snacks were always available. That's all I want from a lounge. I do not expect fine dining.
