Review: The Liffey Lounge Dublin Airport (DUB)
During the return portion ofmy trip across the Atlantic on the Airbus A321XLR, I had the chance to check out The Liffey Lounge Dublin Airport (DUB), which is the airport’s Priority Pass and contract lounge in Terminal 2. I visited this after checking out the Aer Lingus Lounge.

Honestly, I don't usually even bother going to lounges anymore, even if I have access. Most lounges are totally mediocre, and so crowded that it's just like being in the terminal anyway.
I fail to see what looks 'luxurious ' about this space but, of course, that's subjective. And, more importantly, what's with that sign limiting alcoholic drinks to 2 ? Rather insulting, tacky & draconian.
Right? If you are not looking to drink much alcohol or eat garbage food...what is the point anymore?
Official airport policy for all lounges in DUB… generally not enforced, more a method for limiting bad behaviour probably
Honestly, I don't get people that have to announce that they're not interested in going to lounges on the internet.
Like just don't go then? I don't need to tell everyone that I stopped going to Burger King because I don't like their burgers anymore.
Tried to enter this lounge on a Wednesday morning in May. Was told it was at capacity, and that there was no waitlist or text notification when there was availability - I suppose just come back and check every 15 to 20 minutes?
Knowing that it wasn't the most luxurious space, we weren't too disappointed, but after several experiences like this, I view Priority Pass as almost a worthless perk of a credit card.
Would love to see a review of the Shelbourne in Dublin next time you're flying thru DUB
Not the worst priority pass lounge out there. Decent for what it is, a lounge in DUB.
Thanks for the info ...
Those Irish do love their Guiness ! But I bet there are a lot more Americans chronically misbehaving in part due to overconsumption... A sad commentary on some 'adults'...lol
So you're now a fan of the 'Golden Arches', eh ?
...lol..
..... or Wimpys ?
For a truly 'premium' peace & quiet experience I just go to the uncrowded gate. Granted there are no substandard booze & inedible options but I'll let 'em fight it out for that at the lounges !
...lol
From experience there's little to no problems, but when it's generally Irish groups of men or women off on a holiday who get slightly bositerous.
The drink policy is never enforced - even less no now it is self service when it used to be a manned bar As suggested in precious comment, it's just there to have a reason to ask people to refrain from having more if needs be.
Really? Four stars? Did you miss how dirty the bathrooms where and the gross stained seating area in front of the restrooms? Worst lounge I have ever been in for cleanliness!
Turned away from the Liffey lounge on 12th July at 9am because it was overbooked.....maybe 40% of the seats were occupied. Not acceptable!
"But I bet there are a lot more Americans chronically misbehaving in part due to overconsumption"
I'm always amused by these takes. Have ya'll traveled to other countries popular with Brits and Irish? Have you seen young Americans abroad? They are freakin' meek.
The acceptable level of wilding out while drunk is a *hundredth* of what is acceptable to lads from the UK and Ireland. You really think some kids from UT or NYU are doing that kind of stuff? I've seen drunk 20-somethings in London do things that are unspeakable, like knock a guy out of his wheelchair and throw it down tube station stairs.
And don't even get me started on drunk Aussie lads in confined spaces. Don't. Legit terrifying and I grew up in 1980s and 90s NYC.
Ireland does three things better than any other nation on Earth:
Alcohol
Women
Serenity
Dublin airport has 2 priority pass lounges. One is technically in T1 and this one is technically in T2. The reality though is both lounges are within 4mins walk of each other so rly you can use either or both regardless of which temrinal you're flying out of.
The offerings used to be exactly the same in both but the bigger T1 lounge now has some hot food. Both lounges have a max 2 alcohol drinks per person rule but in thus T2 lounge it is self service so not rly enforceable. In T1 drinks are served by a bartender and the rule is enforced.
I've used this lounge many times. I don't think it has a cleanliness issue. The shower is very basic though. Probably the most basic lounge shower I've ever had.
Also @lucky your review is wrong. The lounge does have a single shower room. I used it earlier this year. It is probably the most basic lounge shower I have ever used though, although better than nothing.
My experience at The Liffey Lounge in Dublin Airport was nothing short of infuriating - and frankly, it calls into question the integrity of the entire Priority Pass partnership.
I attempted to visit around 11:00 AM on a day when the airport was noticeably uncrowded. As an AMEX Platinum cardholder with Priority Pass access, I expected at least a baseline level of professionalism and fairness. Instead, I was denied entry at the door the moment I confirmed I was using Priority Pass.
What happened next was even more concerning. The doorman informed the gentleman ahead of me that the lounge was “full” for Priority Pass members - but then casually offered to let him in for €20. In other words, access was apparently available… just not for those using the membership they’ve already paid for. It felt less like standard capacity control and more like opportunistic cash-grabbing.
When I asked to be placed on a waiting list, I was initially brushed off and told I wouldn’t get in. After pushing, I was reluctantly added - but never received any follow-up, even after waiting three hours. Not a call, not an update, nothing.
This isn’t just poor service - it undermines the entire premise of Priority Pass and AMEX Platinum benefits. If lounges can arbitrarily deny access to members while simultaneously selling spots at the door, what exactly are customers paying for?
Based on this experience and judging by similar reviews online - this doesn’t appear to be an isolated incident. It’s disappointing, unprofessional, and reflects poorly on all parties involved. AMEX and Priority Pass should seriously reconsider their association with this lounge unless these practices are addressed.
Bottom line: avoid if you’re relying on Priority Pass. You may be treated as second-class unless you’re willing to pay extra on the spot.
I agree with the comments here suggesting this lounge has some sort of beef against Priority Pass or otherwise discriminates against some passengers; it’s not okay, and it might lead to litigation. I was grudgingly granted access as a Priority Pass member recently on a very quiet morning as a solo traveler but was targeted for harassment by the woman who checked me in — lots of subtle and then not so subtle pressure to leave within my time block as the lounge started to fill up. When I was admitted, about 2/3rds of the table seating near the buffet was empty but marked “reserved” — it’s not stated for whom, and there’s no table service in this lounge. I managed to find an unreserved two-person table with the kind help of a bus boy, and I shared my table with a stranger and later offered the spare seat to another party. I sat and read a book and dined lightly while groups around me watched videos on their phones without headphones and hit the buffet and fridge bar hard (two drink limit?), yet the pressure was on me — at one point my friend from check-in sighed loudly and marked my table with a “move on” table flag (the only table to receive one) but without a word to me. Shortly after, another staffer lifted and moved my backpack by my seat without asking me; this was all within about an hour of entering the lounge. So much for trying to relax before a flight.
When the table next to me (arriving before me) left, I packed up and headed out too. The food and drink offerings are as described, but something is very amiss with the staffing and management here.
