During my long journey to Abu Dhabi, I flew Garuda Indonesias Boeing 777 business class from Jakarta to Jeddah. In addition to visiting the underwhelming Garuda Indonesia Lounge, I also checked out the Plaza Premium Lounge, which I’ll be reviewing in this installment.

I believe the hotel in the pic is the anara. I stayed overnight and it’s good.
As far as entry I tried with priority pass but was turned down recently.

Unless things have changed since May 2023, the showers are free. Shower rooms are spacious and kept. Despite the lounge being quite crowded in the evening, there was no wait for a shower room.
Saphire was a product of Angkasa Pura (airport operator in Indonesia) and Schiphol airport back in 2005ish. They used to do joint venture company called Angkasa Pura Schiphol, and Saphire was one of their products, offering exclusive membership program (used to offer fast track access, dedicated lounge, iris scanning immigration). They now still keep the name for the lounge

Added to this, they afforded lounge access and they used to have a landslide lounge at the old international terminal (terminal 2).
The annual fee started out fairly reasonable but it went up to Rp2 million (USD130) so I declined to renew my membership. Anyway, with the Jakarta traffic the way it was (and is), it’s not common to get much time at the airport anyway 😉
Nice as it may be, it still puzzles me how they can define foldable umbrellas as weapons that are forbidden as a carry on item. And because of that I'm never ever going to CGK again...
My experience as I sit here right now: the food is -- meh, not many indonesian options and whatever option they have is barely ok (at least compared to simple restaurants I've been to around in the country). On the brightside, their menu seems to have been upgraded from what you showed, it now is displayed on a tablet display. You need to pay for drinks; and worst of all, the download speed of the wifi is a whopping 0.8 mbps (so no streaming), upload @ 11mbps in case you want to upload to some website that takes forever to download. I'll try the coffee a little later. The space feels luxurious because of the high ceilings and lightiing, but misses a good set of ACs... it is kind of warm here at 10:20pm... looking forward to get in the plane. All in all I would say this is equivalent to a lesser Admirals club overall. 🙁
I have never felt so disconnected from your view of the world Ben. This is a decent lounge in terms of the space but horrible when it comes to many of the things that matter...food, drink, peace and quiet. Aside from the fruit the breakfast food was just terrible. Think Hilton Garden Inn in small town America meets the equivalent in China. Just awful. Everything seemed like it needed a good clean...greasy machines, fridge glass etc. Coffee machine was broken but no sign. I asked the Barista for a decaf coffee he said I could have a tea instead...which was tepid in a stained up. Hate this place.
