It’s apparent that the star rating system for lounges is much more strict than for hotels.
I definitely would not touch the hot food in a buffet outside any country with strict food safety standards.
Interesting -- seems kind of fun, in a retro, informal way.
I used SGN's Apricot Lounge (JAL? on the intl side) in 2019, which I found to be a bit dingy and dark.
Lucky, you know there is a separate immigration line for business class passengers, right?
I'd say it's overly generous at the low end.
Ben trashed the SAS Chicago lounge linked in this post and it still got 2.5 stars!
What would it take to get less than 2.5? No chairs? No food? No electricity?
Agreed - especially if the the lounges are taken into their respective contexts (international terminal, airline-run vs domestic, third-party)...
Only on departures I thought? I never noticed one on arrivals, and I have been through there enough times. An hour is rare though, but if you arrive with a string of other flights, it can be bad.

Traveling through Vietnam and Cambodia right now, fantastic countries with a lot to see. Coincidentally the tour charter was from HAN-REP on Bamboo Airways, E190. Nice ride for a short coach itinerary. Great thing about Asia right now is that the crowds are minimal and wait times quick. Reminds me of Europe summer 2021.
There are 3 lounges in the domestic terminal, one dedicated to VN airlines. (Lotus lounge)
The one you reviewed and a semi secret Le Saigonnais lounge thats at the far end of the terminal thats closer to two gates ( I forgot which ones)
The 2nd Saigonnais lounge also accepts Priority pass even though its not listed on their website, or even lounge buddy for that matter. Im guessing its split off as part of the main one to ease overcrowding as its always busy there.
"Diet" sodas is not available in many European countries because the word "diet" is not the right answer to a request to not eat sugar. Sometimes "light" sodas are available but today "zero" sodas is the best answer to your request.
