There’s an exciting lounge update for Vancouver International Airport (YVR), as we’ve just seen the opening of the new Plaza Premium Lounge, which has been under construction for quite some time. There’s even a surprise, as the lounge has a Plaza Premium First section as well.

Doesn't Plaza Premium also operate the Sky Team lounge at Vancouver's airport?

Looks quite nice, don’t think I would cough up the extra money for the first section though. I was in the LHR T4 lounge last week after its recent refurbishment, must say it was great, not very busy and tasty food.

The views and architectural windows look fantastic. Looking forward to eventually visiting.

It’s not in the transborder section. So kinda useless when you travel to US. Also the transborder section is always the saddest part of Canadian airports

My first instinct is that locking the "nicer" parts of the lounge behind paid access sets a dangerous precedent. The whole point of Priority Pass is that you pay the membership fee for all access and don't need to worry about any costs. How long before PP just gets you in the door with cheese cubes and crackers, and everything else is an up-charge?

On the other hand, considering that nowadays everyone and their mother has a premium CC w/ PP whether they can actually afford it or not... it'll be nice for those of us who can afford the lounge lifestyle to have a properly premium offering.

No. It's operated by Global Lounge Network.

Not just Priority Pass. Dragonpass members also have access to Plaza Premium lounges. Several Canadian credit cards include Dragonpass membership.

Has anyone any idea if BA J class passengers get to access the First portion of the PPL?

True. I've accessed PP lounges in Canada using a dragon pass membership.
