Just out of curiosity: did anyone actually ever try to buy these tickets at the airport? Is Allegiant actually ensuring that there is a staffed ticket counter one hour after departure of a flight?

UberX Mercedes Benz rolls up to the Allegiant terminal. Ben & Ford exit the vehicle, enter the building, saunter up to the reservation desk and 20 minutes later depart with 2 round trip tickets to Myrtle Beach. Having saved $44 dollars, they splurge on lunch at TGI Friday!
If the counter isn’t really open when Allegiant says it is, you should report it to both the FAA/DOT and the IRS. The airline can’t claim that a fee is avoidable to save on taxes and then also not actually do the thing that allegedly makes the fee avoidable.
This is not true. There are about a dozen stations where Allegiant does not sell tickets. The law, roughly, says there must be a way to opt out of the fee but doesn't require it to be convenient or even at every airport.
I've tried to buy Allegiant tickets at some airports and have been turned away. The decision was reaffirmed by Allegiant corporate when I complained. They explained tickets are only sold at the airports listed on its website with ticket hours. You'll notice several cities served by G4 are missing...meaning they don't sell tickets.
Actually the convenience fee is to offset credit card charges a la Ticketmaster not the 7.5% FET
It wasn't that long ago airlines charged extra to ticket at the airport, sometimes even at the kiosk, and directed us to e-tickets and other online options. Just keep moving the goal posts to make sure to maximize revenue.
The charge is per segment, so, it's double for roundtrip.
Frontier calls it "Carrier Interface Charge" and it's $23.00 outbound and $23.00 return.

It's a flat fee, not a percentage like a credit card offset.
The airfare on my PHX-IAH roundtrip is $36.06 but the "Carrier Interface Charge" is $46.00
VISA/MC/AMEX do not charge 127% for using their service.
the real question is "why would anyone want to travel on allegiant at all?" they can cancel a. flight and their next flight can be days later!
We travel by Allegiant a lot & I always try to go to the airport. I save $80 on a round trip purchase for my Husband and me. Before heading to the airport I look up outdoing flight times and go between 1 to 2 hours before. I know exactly which flight so it does not take them much time. I have saved by flying Allegiant & we have only had 1 instance in 8 years & we were compensated. Very Satisfied with Allegiant.
can I use my flight mile if I book a flight at an Allegiant counter at the airport?
Is this only if you are flying that day? Or can you buy advance tickets this way?
I am also curious if you can buy tickets for departures from other airports. I live 30 minutes from the Bishop airport in Flint MI that serves Allegiant, but I'm looking to buy tickets from Cincinnati to Orlando. I would make the drive to save $176 on round trip tickets for my family of 4.
Is it still cheaper to book your flight at the airport/counter if you have a carry-on or checked bag? Or do they charge more for a checked bag/ carry-on when buying the ticket in person than they would have charged you to buy it online ahead of time?
You can book flights departing from any airport, not just the one where you're buying the tickets.
I have done this many times with no issue. If I am traveling alone, I don't make the trip to the airport. When I am booking for my family of four, I book at the airport. I live near a small airport served by allegiant and it's easy in and out. Just check the airport website for a departing flight and arrive around scheduled departure time. Also, I have actually purchased flights for a different airport with no issue.
Years flying Allegiant I've never had a flight cancelled, probably because they only fly direct, to smaller airports.
Irrelevant whether you're bringing luggage. I've always saved big bucks buying at the counter. Google Allegiant ticket counter hours, for a chart that shows precise days/hours for your airport. For mine it's just 6 hours total every week. When you arrive it may not be obvious which counter is selling - just ask!
I went to the airport to purchase my ticket (as i have for the last year or so) and the 'New system update' does not allow the ticket counter reps to sell, change or reschedule any flights. Is this legal to not offer a way to avoid the “Carrier Usage Charge.”
Wondering if anyone else has experienced this at other airports?

If Niagara Falls International Airport IAG isn't listed, does that mean I cannot buy my tickets there? I know there is a flight leaving Friday morning so they would be open, but maybe they don't sell tickets for other flights at that time?
This is September 3 and still no hours posted for September ticket sales at the Allegiant counter in Rockford, IL . Makes me so mad!
