I saw the BoA 737 take off last night from MIA, and I was confused, so I checked Flightradar24 and saw it was going to PTY. At first I thought that maybe BoA added another flight to MIA (and it was a 737 because of their limited A330s), but after some research I was even more confused, hence my comment on a previous post.
If any readers have any idea why this is, I know me and Ben (and maybe some other fellow Miami-based OMAAT readers) would be very interested in the answer!
We also discussed this here. At least BoA is offering refunds for those downgraded from business to economy/taking into account the extra stop.

Most likely scenario is that they are undergoing maintenance at Mexicana MRO, a marge maintenance facility in Mexico City.
It's obvious Ben. After the management read your glowing review comparing their business class to AF La Première they felt obligated to retrofit the A330 to meet new demand expectations.
BOA is a state-owned airline, and the only Bolivian Airline in Bolivia. There's a lot of political issues/corruption and the government banned other airlines like Amaszonas and Ecojet. It's poorly managed with constant delays and lack of funds even though flights are always full.. There's also political issues around petrol and jet fuel which Bolivia poorly managed/can't afford to fund. Local news have been saying for months that BOA is running out of money, are not paying leases, is not sustainable, etc. I would guess they finally got some of their leases terminated. The 737 replacement is probably so they keep their Miami slot.
I just landed in MEX today and I think I saw them inside Mexicana MRO. Maybe they are in maintenance. I've seen BOA's 767s at that MRO previously
well I guess if you are reading comments for interesting info, AS has been slowly releasing mixed partner awards and the pricing is atrocious. May be worth investigating.
Also AS devaluation is real, and this is just another in the 12 step program.
A330-200s, you say? Didn’t you just report that Israir will be leasing 2 A330-200s for TLV-New York flights? Now we know
I flew the A330 March 1 to Miami. Late boarding. Below avg. service for Businesses Class. Got me home. I would just avoid Santa Cruise if you can.
